******* Gesamtkunstwerk since 1998.*****
This show is home-made not to say clunky, and low-tech, using my own singing and dodgy violin-playing. Less to go wrong. And the nimble puppeteer? Well, if it turns out he's contravened something, then he "SIMPLY WASN'T THERE!"
Something as unique, lawless and
portable as puppetry should never be
for just one age group; everyone deserves the chance to
enjoy impossible, scary or wonderful worlds created right in their midst.
And at your wish you can have a visit from giant puppets, The Green Man and the Hornsea Herring Gull. Both are over ten feet tall, and in their mighty iconic looming confound the predictable--your dreams and nightmares coming true in the daytime.
From the little, portable booth (folds up into my car and can be set up almost anywhere, gardens, conservatories, living rooms) are performed a range of peculiar and instructive plays suitable for *meetings* classes* weddings* funerals and wakes* *anniversaries* dull, rainy Thursdays wi' nowt to do* in fact, any occasion where a play is just what you would like!
The repertoire includes:
“Exitintoday” (from theEgyptian Book of the Dead)
“The Diary of Samuel Pepys”
"Philemon and Baucis", based on Ovid's account of an old legend, and
"Macbeth for Ferrets", Shakespeare's classic vividly
re-enacted by a troupe of bushy-tailed ferrets and mink. (Look on
"Plays"page for more details and pictures)
The plays last about 45 minutes. They are suitable for audiences of
up to 20 people.
How much does it cost for "Mysterium Ingenii" to come to you?
PERFORMANCES ARE DONE IN
EXCHANGE FOR A DONATION--
WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD--FOR THE
"BOBTAILS" ANIMAL SANCTUARY and tea
for the puppeteer.
" Mysterium Ingenii" will travel in Yorkshire and sometimes beyond.Outside performances are possible, but nothing is waterproof and many items are fragile.Children are welcome, but, as in Samuel Pepys' time, no special allowances are made and the show will be gruesome, shocking and difficult to understand.
-----hope to see you soon!
